Don't be afraid to bet the Over win total with these "bad" NFL teams

Don't be afraid to bet the Over win total with these ¨bad¨ NFL teams | News Article by SportsBettingOnline.ag

The 2019 NFL season is mere weeks away from kickoff, and the always popular season win totals markets are starting to see tremendous NFL betting action.

At the top of the heap are teams like Kansas City, New England, and the L.A. Rams. But at the bottom, we’re left with fruitless squads like Miami, Arizona, and the New York Giants. While those win totals aren’t on pace for a playoff spot, many smart bettors look to go against the public opinion and wager on the Over when it comes to win totals for the NFL’s worst.

Here’s a look at three bad teams that could shock the sports gambling websites by playing Over their season win totals this upcoming football season:

Miami Dolphins (Win Total 4.5)
There’s a lot working against Miami this year. The Dolphins have a rookie head coach, a shaky depth chart at quarterback, and defense that isn’t much improved from the unit that allowed over 27 points per game in 2018. Yet, there could be an open window for the Over this short win total. The rest of the AFC East – save for the Patriots (who the Dolphins always play tough) – isn’t that great either. The Fins can likely shake three home wins out of the schedule and need just two more victories on the road – perhaps over both New York teams in Weeks 14 and 15 – to top this number.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Win Total 6.5)
Bruce Arians hasn’t taken long to leave his mark on this offense, with the Bucs looking solid during the preseason slate. Tampa Bay will put up points – we know that for sure – with Jameis Winston hitting WR Mike Evans for plenty of big plays. The defense is switching gears and leaving behind the famed Tampa 2 for Todd Bowles’ new 3-4 scheme. And while they will be missing star DY Vita Vea for the start of the season, his return should spark this unit and help the Buccaneers score victories later in the schedule. That’s when sledding gets a little smoother as well, with five of the final eight games being played at Raymond James Stadium.

Detroit Lions (Win Total 6.5)
The Lions are bringing up the rear in the NFC North, with rivals Chicago, Minnesota and Green Bay all boasting season win totals of 9.5. Detroit managed to win six games in 2018 despite a first-year head coach, a rash of injuries on both sides of the ball, and the second-toughest schedule in the NFL (now saddled with the 19th toughest SOS in the league). While the division is on the rise, Green Bay looks ripe for a downfall and expectations in Chicago may be blown out of proportion. Matt Patricia will have a better grasp on this roster – specifically the defense – in 2019 and QB Matt Stafford has some fantastic skill players around him, including 2018 breakout stars WR Kenny Galloday and RB Kerryon Johnson to go along with veteran WRs Danny Amendola and Marvin Smith and TE Jessie James.
