Sizing up Chiefs at Rams odds in a monster Monday night matchup | News Article by SportsBettingOnline.ag

In a possible Super Bowl preview, the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 11 of the NFL season. Here’s a quick look at the nfl betting lines and best betting odds for this massive primetime matchup:

Spread
With this game originally scheduled in Mexico City, the Rams opened as 3-point neutral-site favorites and that line slimmed to -2.5 with early money on the Chiefs. However, due to poor field conditions, the league quickly switched venues and brought the game to L.A., with the Rams installed as the home team in the original matchup.

That move forced many books to pull the odds from the board and refund early wagers on the original neutral-site contests. Once the game was officially bumped to the Coliseum, Los Angeles opened at -3 and took money to move to -3.5.

The Rams enter Week 11 as one of the worst wagers in recent weeks, covering just once in their last seven contests. Los Angeles has been able to maintain its scoring pace – ranked third in the NFL in points per game with 33.5 per contest – but has had its defense exposed during that seven-game span. Los Angeles has allowed a total of 105 points over its last three games and now runs into the second-ranked scoring attack.

Kanas City enters Monday night with an 8-2 ATS record on the season, but has slipped up in recent games going just 1-2 ATS in its previous three outings. Those came against less-than-stellar competition, facing Denver, Cleveland and Arizona and an average spread of almost 11 points. While the Rams defense has its holes, the Chiefs stop unit hasn’t put up much of a fight all season, allowing 24 points on an average of almost 411 yards against per game.

Total
As it sits, this current total of 63 points is the largest Over/Under number in NFL betting history. The 2018 season is shattering records in yards and points, so it’s no surprise to see these numbers tick up so high considering the offensive prowess of both teams.

Despite a high-powered attack and a non-existent defense, Kansas City has been paying out for Under bettors in recent weeks. The Chiefs have posted a 2-4-1 Over/Under record in their last seven games, facing an average betting total of 53 points.

We saw a similar trend from the Rams earlier in the season, opening with a 3-5 Over/Under count in their first eight games. However, with the current defensive lapse, L.A. has played Over in its last two games – topping totals of 57 and 51 points.

Futures
Heading into Week 11, a Rams-Chiefs Super Bowl matchup is the second-overall favorite in terms of Big Game betting, priced at +675.

Los Angeles is the second favorite to win the NFC Championship at +165 (just behind New Orleans at +160) and is listed at +340 to win Super Bowl LIII.

Kansas City is right behind L.A. in terms of Super Bowl futures, priced at +550 and is the front runner to take home the AFC Championship, sitting at +210 odds ahead of Pittsburgh +300 and New England +350.
